Something about this summer has me feeling at ease. The only thing that seems to be missing is the fresh peaches picked off the central valley orchard trees. Sometimes before I go to sleep at night I think about wandering through orchards in the summer, picking peaches, and biting into them, and simmering underneath the summer heat (at 100 degrees).
I could go to Whole Foods in SOMA and buy a peach for like $12 I suppose, but theres nothing like wandering into an orchard and pulling a peach right off the branch and going straight home to bake a pie for a summer gathering. I guess I’m missing the valley, and I want to go back most of the time, but I know there’s not a lot left for me there so $12 peaches in the city will have to do for photo props for now.
