Yesterday I spent the afternoon at the de Young Museum for the “Summer Of Love” exhibit. Naturally, as a bohemian-spirited San Franciscan, I was thrilled to see the exhibit of SF’s colorful counterculture which blossomed in the 1960s. I left with a feeling of yearning, longing for my own summer of love. I want to dance barefoot in the Golden Gate Park, making daisy chains, picnicking in the afternoon, hand holding and daydreaming underneath the warm California sun.
Leaving de Young, we strolled over to Haight Street, browsing eclectic shops visiting my 2 favorite vintage boutiques, scouring the racks for carefully handcrafted vintage dresses. I instantly fell in love with a pink silk and tulle party dress from 1954. My mind quickly raced to dancing under the moonlight in this perfectly tailored frock. I may have to redesign the pink tulle party dress for a romantic summer eve! xo, Alyssa Nicole
