I’m patiently waiting for my photographers to send me our lookbooks for Alyssa Nicole SS17 collection and patience has always been a struggle for me, especially working in the fashion industry. I’m used to a fast turn around, but the past few months I’ve been thinking more about wardrobe staples, seasonless collections, and the need for sustainability in fashion. In the current landscape of fashion there are spring, fall, resort, pre-fall, bridal, and haute couture fashion weeks (not to mention all of this for every major fashion capital worldwide) and it all seems to be a bit saturated. Looking back on a creative photoshoot in collaboration with Jason, I’m reminded that some things are worth the wait. We photographed my collection on a wide format camera on film at Ocean Beach in San Francisco. I’m so used to quick turnarounds for digital lookbooks that having to wait for the film to be developed was a reminder that quality is definitely worth the wait. In 2017 I’m focusing on sustainability and quality, designing pieces that will last longer and provide more value to your day to day wardrobe. New pieces coming to the shop soon (like really, really soon!) Can’t wait to share with you guys soon, xo Alyssa Nicole
