Last week we drove out of the foggy city over the Golden Gate Bridge into sunny & serene Marin County. We couldn’t have chosen a better day to venture out into Marin Headlands to capture the stunning cliff side views and my collection on Jason’s film / large format cameras. It seems like it’s been ages since I took a day to relax and decompress. Lately I’ve been trying to do just that, but somehow I always try to manage in a bit of content creating for Alyssa Nicole. We hiked Marin Headlands and stopped for film photo shoot where I conquered my fear of heights to model The Alexa Gown on a cliff by the sea.
This season I decided to take on an entire line of new styles which has drawn out the patterning process, and added a bit of stress to collection. Sometimes work/life balance can be overwhelming and it’s hard to just live in the moment, especially when I’m feeling the pressure to design and complete a new line. I felt alive in the moment as we stood on top a cliff above the sea as the waves crashed below. It was just what I needed, a quick day trip to clear my head before coming back to a week of designing a new line. As soon as I’m done with collection I plan to leave my iphone at home and head over to ocean beach so I can sit among the sand dunes and watch the sunset.
