WINTER TIDE

Seeing as this is my Designer Diary, I feel obligated to tell you guys I have been in a moment of severe designers block. It’s like writers block, but for fashion design. I’ve tried everything to shake it, trip to the beach, visit to the alpaca farm, watched 6 winter sunsets in a row – and still – nothing. I even did something completely out of my norm – I went to a football game! However I know there’s only a few things that can really cure my fashion design blues.

So over the weekend I did what I always do, got the latest issue of Porter Magazine, took a long drive out in the country, sketched over a glass of wine, listened to The Cure, and pinned some mood board images from my favorite Sofia Coppola films. Maybe I have the winter blues, but at least I have cashmere sweaters and Christmas spirit to keep me going. Where do you go for inspiration anymore when everything online feels so disposable?
