Stepping into fall with my F/W 2014 Collection in this Metallic Bell Sleeve Aline Dress for a dinner date in Bernal Heights. I’m in a constant state of fear that I’m over dressed for everything I do (especially when going out) – and in SF, I usually am. To dress as if I didn’t ‘try to hard’ is actually quite difficult seeing as I am a designer – I usually spend hours pressing and steaming my clothing before going anywhere. So I finally discovered the secret to ‘dressing down’ an otherwise very dressy ensemble. Add a denim jacket! Just wear it over everything! I should have gotten this memo before, but was reluctant until discovering the cool color combo of my vintage denim and Fall 14 line was a match made in heaven.
I can only dress casually for so long & I’m getting tired of suggestions that I ‘lose the heels’. Until I cave and buy those black leather Chloe ballet flats, I will never feel fulfilled in flat shoes. I’m so glad I wore my Freda’s because there are stairs and hills I didn’t even know about in the Bernal Heights hood. I will stand by my Freda’s & let you know I made it up a Bernal Heights hike without a blister or scratch.
